Opportunities to serve in Ouachita Parish are numerous. Some of these are ongoing while others are single events. Below you will find a list of some of the missions and outreaches of Cedar Crest in our community. For more information about ways to get involved, click here or contact Amy in church office.
Crossfire Cowboy Church - meets on Tuesdays at 7:00pm. The pastor is Tracy Sistrunk.
Desiard St. Shelter - feeds the homeless in Monroe. We go on the second Wednesday of the month to feed lunch. Volunteers are needed to serve the food. Jenice Conville coordinates the meal and the volunteers.
Fellowship of Christian Athletes - monthly support
Kid's Hope - weekly mentoring of at risk kids at Kiroli & Drew Elementary. Mentors are always needed. Less than one hour a week touches the life of a child forever. Get in touch with Gayle Bryan for more info.
Life Choices - Pregnancy Resource Center
Mercy Ministries - a faith-based residential program for young women. Several times a year we plan events for the ladies at the Mercy House.
Truck Stop Ministries - at the Pilot Truckstop. Flyers are passed out and people invited to a service in the Truck Stop Ministries Building in the parking lot of the Pilot. One volunteer leads the service and others are there to offer fellowship and prayer for those attending.
Wellspring - volunteers for ladies who have been sexually assaulted. Volunteers are trained to be on call on nights of their choosing and go to the hospital to be a support for ladies who have been sexually assaulted. The Sexual Assault Volunteer Advocate is present during the exam and offers comfort and a friendly face for the victim.
