Prayer This Week

Why do we like God’s promise to forgive us for our sins? How often do we claim this promise as we pray? We tend to think God expects us to sin because He is so ready to forgive.

If God really expects us to sin, why does He command us, in 1 Peter 1:16, “be holy, for I am holy”? He knows our flesh is weak so He has made provision for that weakness. “DON’T WALK IN THE FLESH!”

“So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.”. Gal 5:16.
Can the Spirit sin? If we wonder if we are walking in the Spirit,
we can answer this by asking ourselves if we sin.

Our prayers should be oriented to bring our attention to what God has done and not to the lies Satan tells us. With every temptation, walk in the Spirit. With every prayer thank God for His presence that enables us to do what we can’t do on our on.
